2018 Championship Games

The Marlboro Youth Basketball program is pleased to announce that we have once again been selected as one of just five host sites for this year’s Central Mass Youth Basketball League Championship Games.

On Sunday, March 4th five of the league’s title games will be held at the Marlborough High School Field House, with contests to be played at 10:00 am, 11:30 am, 1:00 pm, 2:30 pm and 4:00 pm.

Indeed, we consider it to be a tremendous honor to host these games, as it is a testament to the work our program has done in recent years to turn this event into a high school-like tournament atmosphere, complete with music, player introductions, hot food concessions etc. Our success is in large part due to the volunteer efforts that we receive from our coaches AND parents that day. As a travel team parent, your help is once again very much needed as we hope to deliver another great experience for the championship teams as well as for the family, friends, and league supports who will be there. There are a couple of ways that you can assist us on March 4th:

1. Volunteer for a 1 ½ -2 hour shift at the concession stand and/or admission table. In all, we are expecting in the range 500 fans to attend the games over what will be an eight hour day for us (8:30 am-4:30 pm), so there will be plenty of activity taking place which means there will be a great deal of service we will need to cover. In addition, for Marlboro playoff teams whose division titles are scheduled to be played in Marlboro that day, we will be asking each of those teams to provide at least three parent volunteers to assist with staffing for either the game before or the game after that particular division (even if those Marlboro teams are eliminated in the semi-finals, which hopefully won’t be the case).

2. If you are not available to take a shift onsite, please consider donating baked goods for sale at the concession stand. The baked goods must be individually wrapped in clear plastic (small plastic bags or saran wrap are fine) and be a generous portion to be easily sold for $1.00 each - i.e. a large brownie, 2 large cookies or 3 small cookies, etc. We would also ask parents to refrain from providing any baked goods with nuts in them in respect to those with allergies. Baked good donations can be brought to the high school on the day of the games starting at 8:30 .

Please let us know if you would like to assist in either capacity to support the league. In advance, thank you for your help as we look forward to a great day of youth basketball on Sunday, March 4th!

Countdown to the Playoffs
We're just a few days away from the last regular season games which means playoffs are just a few weeks away. Playoff games will be held on
March 3rd and 4th with the
exception of the Girls 7th and 8th grade who will play on
March 10th and 11th.

Best of luck to all our teams who
are still pushing for those last
playoff spots.
